Events & Announcements

Are you a member of a church here in Virginia interested in the arts? Are you a Christian artist looking for an ecumenical space to share your work?

Come and find out more about the Baptist General Association's Art for the Not Yet art show and how to participate. During this workshop there will be an introductory reception for the Art for the Not Yet and a time of creativity and brainstorming art project ideas for your church or yourself.

All are welcome to come and learn more about the Art for the Not Yet, not just Baptist churches in Virginia. If you are planning to come, please register so we can properly plan.
Happening Tuesday: LAAF
Those 50 and older are invited to this month's LAAF (Living Abundantly After Fifty) gathering on Tuesday, June 16 at 10 AM. This month's program is a presentation by John Tillery about his trip to the largest hot air balloon show in the country. Those in attendance are invited to join everyone for lunch after the program at Bellacino's in Daleville. The Mission Action Project for this month is a collection of individually packaged snacks to benefit the Good Samaritan Hospice House on Cove Road. Please bring donations of individually packaged snacks such as chips, cookies, peanut butter crackers, Gold Fish, etc.
School Supply Drive
Our mission center partners, Keystone Community Center and Friendship House Roanoke, have started preparing for the upcoming school year by collecting school supplies and backpacks for local students.

PLEASE NOTE that Keystone Community Center is collecting various school supplies. A full list can be found HERE. Friendship House Roanoke is ONLY collecting good quality backpacks this year. They have compiled a list of the ones they prefer which can accessed HERE.

Donations can be placed in the collection bin located in the Fellowship Hall. Backpacks for Friendship House Roanoke can also be ordered online and sent directly to the them. If you have any questions, please reach out to Pat Dillon, Karen Simmons, or the church office!
An Update from Your Personnel Committee
We realize that all of us are keenly missing Pastor Greg and Kim! Please continue to pray for them and their new Kingdom assignment. Many of you have offered to use your time, talents and resources to help fill the void left by our current staff vacancy; you are greatly appreciated! Please pray for those who are spending extra time and effort to help out during this transitional season. Please also pray for your Personnel Committee, church staff, and Melrose Family as we all work together to determine our church staffing needs and seek God's will in finding our next staff member. We will keep you updated about our progress. Thanks!
