Peru Prayer Calendar- Day 5

Tuesday, July 15
Our first schools to visit begin today in the morning We will set out at 7am to reach the school by 8:30am.   We will be using the donated bubbles, jump ropes and parachutes for interaction with the children as well as a puppet show, a Christian symbol craft, and songs of faith. I will give each family a tzitzit (Hebrew prayer tassels) that Blair and the Creatives night friends lovingly made. May they feel God’s presence however they choose to display it.

A large number of the homes of the women here have dirt floors.  Many women in third world countries are expected to birth the child and cook the evening meal in the same day.

Please pray for God’s wisdom on how to encourage these 40-50 women at Monte Sion and the mothers of the school children. Many have common law marriages due to the poverty and systemic misogyny that keeps women almost wholly dependent on the man in the home, surviving his temper to survive at all. This is our last evening with the ladies of Monte Sion.  Pray that they feel heard and not merely spoken to.

Verse for today: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." - Psalm 147:3

Please pray for God’s peace and protection to fall as a banner over these women.  Please pray that hearts will be moved toward faith to cope instead of substances to numb the pain, all kinds of pain.  Jesus heals. Jesus saves.  Jesus transforms…families. Pray that they will take to heart the message from Chrystal, our preacher for these worship services on our bodies as God’s temple and the fruit of the Spirit that they can bear in one another’s lives and in their families.
