Bible Journaling 101

Bible journaling is a beautiful and meaningful way to read and interact with scripture, and to express and explore your faith. and interact with scripture. Through using creative mediums, you can turn the pages of your Bible into personal areas of reflection and works of art that showcase your relationship with God. You do not have to be a skilled artist to Bible journal- you just must be willing to experience God and His word in a creative way.

What do you need to Bible journal? 
  • Journaling Bible or blank journal
  • Pencil
  • Pen
  • Archival ink pens
  • Colored pencils
  • Brush pens or markers
  • Eraser
  • Sketchbook
  • Creative Materials: watercolors, watercolor pencils, tempura sticks, stencils, stickers, washi tape, whatever you wish to use!

How to find inspiration:
  • Google the scripture passage
  • Use Pinterest!
  • Look through books for inspiration
  • Let it flow! Remember that Bible journaling is highly personal so using images and books as inspiration is a great starting point, but it is also important to let God speak to you and through you. The outcome is not what is important- it’s all about the process.
