Thank You...
Last week, over 52 members of our congregation worked together to provide a safe and welcoming "place of grace" for 3 families in partnership with Family Promise. The 4 adults and 7 children found at Melrose many smiling faces, welcoming hearts, good food, and a comfortable place to sleep each night. Every time I turned around, one of the parents was telling me how much they appreciated our church's ministry and hospitality. I want to thank each and every volunteer who gave of their time, their talents, and their resources to help make last week such a great success. I especially want to thank Karen Mullins for her leadership and organization of the week last week. Each and every person involved ministered to these families in a time of need in their lives. We pray that each family will find secure shelter and rest from these struggles in the very near future.
We are currently seeking feedback from those who volunteered during Family Promise week so that we can assess the strengths and growth points of the week in order to consider possible next steps in this ministry area. If you volunteered during Family Promise and have not received the email with the link to the brief online survey, please contact me at mofield@melrosebaptist.org.
"I was a stranger, and you welcomed me." Thank you to everyone who welcomed the very presence of Christ into our church through this partnership with Family Promise!
In Christ,
Mark
